LEXINGTON – If only football were a race where the winner was decided by who reached the finish line first.
In that case, Kentucky would be among the nation’s best programs as it closed out the regular season with a 41-18 win over South Carolina on Saturday, making the Wildcats and Gamecocks the only two Southeastern Conference teams to finish the regular season on time with no postponements due to COVID-19 quarantines.
One might argue the game should not have been played considering South Carolina traveled to Lexington with just 46 scholarship players and 16 healthy defenders, but the two teams kicked off as scheduled at Kroger Field on Saturday night.
