It took longer than many thought it would, but Terry Wilson has been named the Week 1 starting quarterback, as expected.
Mark Stoops made the announcement Monday that Wilson will be the starter, but we should probably expect to see some Gunnar Hoak in Week 1 as well.
Wilson, a former Oregon Ducks signee, committed to Kentucky this past winter and brought a lot of hype with him. He was one of the top junior college players last year, as he was rated No. 5 by ESPN among JUCO players.
When he committed, he was the expected starter for this season, but Gunnar Hoak impressed in camp and caused a legitimate quarterback competition.
