LEXINGTON - Kentucky football is staying close to home for a head start on its 2023 recruiting class.
Frederick Douglass High School defensive back Ty Bryant, son of former UK wide receiver Cisco Bryant, committed to Kentucky Thursday, becoming the Wildcats' first commitment in the class of 2023. Bryant was originally scheduled to graduate in 2022 but reclassified to 2023 after electing to take advantage of the extra year of high school allowed all Kentucky students due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A three-star prospect according to Rivals and 247Sports, Bryant was credited with 47 tackles, two tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one interception in Frederick Douglass's 2020 season.
