Kentucky football set to hire former NFL Pro Bowl RB John Settle as assistant coach

LEXINGTON - For the second time this offseason, Kentucky football has a new running backs coach.

UK coach Mark Stoops is set to hire Wisconsin assistant and former NFL Pro Bowl running back John Settle to the position, a source confirmed to the Courier Journal Friday. The hire, which has not been made official by UK, was first reported by coaching industry website FootballScoop.com.

Settle fills the position vacated by Jemal Singleton, who joined Stoops' staff as running backs coach and special teams coordinator in January but left for a job with the Philadelphia Eagles just more than a month later.
