Running back Ramon Jefferson's first season with Kentucky football is over.
Jefferson, an FCS transfer from Sam Houston State, tore his ACL in the Wildcats' season-opening win against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 3, the running back announced Wednesday in an Instagram post.
The 5-foot-10 tailback, whom starting QB Will Levis dubbed "a little Mighty Mouse," logged just two carries for 10 yards during the first quarter against the RedHawks. The injury occurred on Jefferson's second carry, a gain of 2 yards, and he did not return to the game.
"Moving forward I’ll take my rehab one day at a time to make sure I recover and come back stronger mentally and physically," Jefferson wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.
