LEXINGTON - Kentucky football's search for playmakers at wide receiver will continue without one of its projected starters at the position.
Junior Isaiah Epps, who opened camp as one of the two starting outside receivers, is expected to miss six weeks after suffering a "small fracture" in his left foot on the first day of preseason practice, UK offensive coordinator Eddie Gran announced Tuesday. Gran reported surgery to insert a screw in the injury foot went well.
Kentucky coaches hoped Epps' breakaway speed would help develop a more explosive passing game this fall and prevent defenses from scheming against star slot receiver Lynn Bowden.
