LEXINGTON - Approximately 12,000 fans will be allowed to watch Kentucky football play at Kroger Field this fall.
UK athletic director Mitch Barnhart announced the plan for reduced fan capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic at a UK Athletics committee meeting Thursday. Around 10 fans will be allowed in each premium suite, and tailgating has been banned for the 2020 season, Barnhart said.
A crowd of just more than 12,000 practicing social distancing in the general seating bowl would be around 20% of the stadium's capacity. Those numbers align with the plans at the state's other FBS football programs.
