LEXINGTON - Moore High School alum and Kentucky football outside linebacker J.J. Weaver has been named one of three winners of the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Award.
The award is presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America in association with the Associated Press and the Fiesta Bowl Organization. Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson and Florida State’s McKenzie Milton were the other winners of the award.
"God just keep blessing me throughout all the trials and tribulations I went through," Weaver said after Kentucky's pre-Citrus Bowl practice Tuesday. "I just want to thank the man from above.
