LEXINGTON - Kentucky football's injury problems continue to mount.
Sophomore right guard Eli Cox is likely to miss the rest of the 2021 season with an injury he suffered in Kentucky's 45-42 loss to Tennessee, UK coach Mark Stoops announced Monday. Stoops did not provide specifics about Cox's injury.
Cox is the third projected starter to suffer a season-ending injury since the summer, joining tight end Keaton Upshaw and defensive tackle Octavious Oxendine. Kentucky has also played the last three games without starting nose guard Marquan McCall (ankle). Starting outside linebacker Jordan Wright and starting wide receiver Isaiah Epps also missed the Tennessee game.
