After losing veteran secondary stars Derrick Baity, Chris Westry, Lonnie Johnson Jr., and Mike Edwards to the NFL, Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Football program made defensive back a priority on the recruiting front. Wednesday afternoon, the Wildcats landed another playmaker to add to their elite stable of defensive commits in the 2020 class: Carrington Valentine.
Valentine is a six-foot, 178-pound cornerback out of Cincinnati, according to 247 Sports. And he attends (and plays for) Archbishop Moeller. As someone from Louisville who attended St. Xavier high school, Moeller is a familiar foe on the football field, and often one that crushed my Tigers once a year on a certain Friday night in mid-autumn.
