LEXINGTON - Mark Stoops is dipping into the NFL ranks again to fill out his Kentucky football staff.
Stoops on Thursday hired Cincinnati Bengals assistant Jemal Singleton as his new running backs coach and special teams coordinator. Singleton and new offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who comes to UK from the Los Angeles Rams, fill the two staff vacancies created by the firings of Eddie Gran and Darin Hinshaw after the regular season finale.
With the Bengals, Singleton coached in a similar offensive system to the one Coen is expected to run at Kentucky. Like Coen, Bengals head coach Zach Taylor is a protégé of Rams offensive guru Sean McVay.
