The Kentucky Wildcats got off to an excellent start in the 2021 season on Saturday as they defeated Louisiana-Monroe 45-10.
The new offense was a welcomed sight for the BBN as they showed a willingness to pass, and an ability to succeed at it.
New quarterback Will Levis completed 18/26 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns. As a team, Kentucky passed for 419-yards, which is the first time the Cats have thrown for 400 yards since 2014.
The offense wasn’t the only unit playing at a high level. Mark Stoops’ experienced defense stepped up and held ULM to just 87 total yards while making most snaps difficult for the Warhawks’ offense.
