LEXINGTON – The Kentucky football defense was supposed to be the team’s weak link this season.

National Defensive Player of the Year Josh Allen was gone. So were the top six defensive backs from the No. 6-ranked scoring defense in the country.

This was not supposed to be a unit that held a top-10 Georgia team scoreless in the first half, preventing the Bulldogs from running a single play in Kentucky territory until a shanked punt midway through the third quarter.
