KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – While their coaches battled each other for the blame, the Kentucky Wildcats were being exposed as overrated and undermotivated Saturday evening.

Mark Stoops, the Wildcats’ head coach, said this was “on me.” Assistant head coach Eddie Gran insisted, instead, that it was “on me.” In the wake of a listless 24-7 loss to Tennessee, the UK brain trust appeared bent on taking one for the team as if rehearsing the self-sacrifice scene near the end of Spartacus.
