Kentucky came out of the gates firing in both the first and second halves, but allowed Florida A&M to make things more interesting than they needed to be down the stretch.
Even still, the Wildcats came away with an 88-68 win over the Rattlers on Wednesday night in Rupp Arena. Kentucky began the night with a 16-2 lead in the opening stages and led by 10 at the halftime break, but was never able to grow the lead into blowout territory until the closing moments, settling on the 20-point victory.
Florida A&M, which came into Wednesday night ranked as the 358th best team in the country, per KenPom, shot 52 percent from the floor, 56 percent from 3-point range (9-16), and 88 percent from the free throw line.
