Let me introduce you to Jimmy Mahan, a Henry Clay High School and University of Kentucky alum proudly repping his Cats in North Carolina. Mahan collects basketball trading cards (you can follow him @KentuckyCards on Twitter), and last month, made quite the discovery. While going through a box of Panini Prizm Draft Picks cards live on YouTube, Mahan stumbled upon an autographed rookie card featuring Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, the only one in existence. His reaction was priceless:
The best part of this story? Instead of making what would have been a substantial sum of money by selling the card ($25,000 to $50,000, he estimates), he auctioned it off for charity with all proceeds going to The Crossnore School, a children’s home in North Carolina where he and his wife worked for four years.
