GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kentucky is no longer atop the Southeastern Conference standings.
The No. 6 Wildcats fell at No. 23 Florida 88-66 Saturday night and were replaced by South Carolina as the top team in the league.
Kentucky (18-5, 8-2) did not play like a team seeking to re-assert dominance and lock down a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament in front of a sold-out crowd at O'Connell Center. Florida (18-5, 8-2), instead, emerged as a contender in the league and nationally, behind Kasey Hill's 21 points and a supreme defensive and rebounding performance.
Devin Robinson had 16 points for the Gators, with Canyon Barry adding 14 and KeVaughn Hill 12.
