No. 5 Kentucky mens soccer (6-0-2) earned its first ever Sun Belt Conference victory on Saturday, defeating Georgia State (6-1-1) 5-1 in Atlanta.
Despite the Cats having only conceded six goals all season entering the match, Georgia State stunned UK goalkeeper Casper Mols, scoring within the first 30 seconds of play when Mario Arrocha’s shot from 25 yards out flew into the top corner of the goal to give the home squad an early 1-0 lead.
After the strong start from the Panthers, Kentucky wasted little time to respond with a goal of its own in the 4’ as Casper Grening cut in from the left wing to finish from the top of the box and tie the score at 1-1.
