Kentucky Men’s Basketball has quickly gone from being locally known as “Big Man University” to relying on graduate transfers from smaller schools.
The program that once brought in DeMarcus Cousins, Enes Kanter, Anthony Davis, Nerlens Noel, Dakari Johnson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Skal Labissiere in a matter of a half-decade has not secured a commitment from a unanimously ranked top-tier center since 2016. In the two most recent seasons, Kentucky brought in transfer players who could play right away, Reid Travis and Nate Sestina, to fill the void down low after the five-star recruits went elsewhere. There’s a good chance they have to do something similar for next season.
