LEXINGTON, Ky. – Remember when Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari pulled the numbered pills that determined the 2015 Breeders' Cup Classic draw?
Bob Baffert does. The Hall of Fame trainer's horse American Pharoah had already won the Triple Crown and the anticipation for a first "Grand Slam" was high.
Calipari's touch decided the starting positions.
"He told me he was a nervous son of a gun because he did not want to jinx him and give him a bad post," Baffert said.
Calipari told Baffert he almost dropped the pills and that he "doesn't get that nervous at a Final Four.
