Kentucky battled a dual-threat quarterback last week against Nick Fitzgerald and Mississippi State, but there’s no rest for the Cats this week. South Carolina, operating under recently-promoted offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon, has picked up their speed this season. And Kentucky’s defensive coordinator, Matt House, has noticed.
“At times, they go Ole Miss, Missouri fast. Now, they don’t do that the whole game, but they have the ability to do that,” Coach House said following the conclusion of practice today.
A quicker, more up-tempo Gamecock team means Kentucky’s defense has to be on their A-game for all four quarters.
