Kentucky DB Kendall Randolph out for spring after ankle surgery

Kentucky senior defensive back Kendall Randolph will miss the rest of spring after undergoing ankle surgery, coach Mark Stoops announced Saturday after the Wildcats’ second spring scrimmage.

Randolph, a projected starter at nickel back this fall, has had “lingering effects” from a high ankle sprain that limited for much of last season.

Stoops only told reporters that Randolph would be out for “a while,” though it seems likely that he would be ready in time for the season should he have no complications or setbacks.

“We are thin right now in the secondary,” Stoops said.
