LEXINGTON - The Kentucky football team did not quite make it to the end of the season without a player opting out.
Third-year sophomore cornerback Kelvin Joseph tweeted Monday evening he is opting out of the rest of UK's season to prepare for the NFL draft.
"Growing up in North Baton Rouge, not many have had the opportunity that I have to play in the NFL," Joseph tweeted. "My family struggled but still managed to raise a successful young Black man. I am taking this opportunity to focus on preparing for the NFL draft."
A former top-50 recruit, Joseph transferred to Kentucky from LSU prior to the 2019 season.
