After entering his name into the transfer portal April 18th, former Iowa guard and Covington Catholic alum CJ Fredrick has officially been contacted by Kentucky. 247 Sports’ Chris Fisher broke the news late Tuesday night.
Fredrick has been a rumored transfer option for Kentucky for months now, even before his name was officially in the portal.
Ordinally a three-star recruit from Cincinnati (OH) in the class of 2018, Fredrick had a decent offer list when he was being recruited, choosing Iowa over Indiana, Penn State and Xavier.
In his freshman season in 2019-20, Fredrick was a vital player for the Hawkeyes, averaging 10.
