Kentucky basketball’s win over Tennessee marked first two-game sweep in over 10 years

Kentucky mens basketball defeated No. 10 Tennessee 66-54 on Saturday, marking the first two-game regular season sweep since the 2011-12 season.

The wins were pivotal to the 2022-23 Wildcats, who were fighting to remain in the field of 68 as the season drew to a close. In fact, as the final buzzer sounded in Lexington, Kentucky had won just three quadrant-1 games, two of which were over Tennessee.

Kentucky was led by Antonio Reeves in the first matchup, taking place on Jan. 14, who recorded 18 points, though Oscar Tshiebwe and CJ Fredrick followed close behind with 15 and 13 respectively.
