LEXINGTON, Ky. — College coaches routinely called with the same message for basketball coach Carl Kremer after watching Archbishop Moeller High (Cincinnati) games last season.
The Hayes kid who comes off they bench, they said, he's a late bloomer.
The recruiters were right about Jaxson Hayes, who grew to 6-feet-10-inches, 195 pounds and impressed high-level college coaches on the AAU scene this spring and summer.
He's now a senior and no longer a secret.
"I think a lot of MAC level schools thought they were going to get a steal," Kremer said.
