LEXINGTON — Kentucky basketball's nonconference schedule may not be finished yet, but the Southeastern Conference portion of the schedule has already been altered by COVID-19 testing.
The Wildcats' SEC opener against South Carolina originally scheduled for Dec. 29 has been postponed due to "a combination of positive tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the South Carolina basketball program," according to a news release from the SEC.
The SEC's 18-game schedule includes one open Saturday in March for making up postponed games, but it is unclear how the league will prioritize makeups given the likely scenario that teams have multiple games postponed at some point over the next two months.
