With the summer recruiting period heating up, John Calipari is making a concerted effort to go after the top players in the 2017 class.
The top prospect in the class is center DeAndre Ayton, who hails from Balboa City School in California. On Thursday at the NBPA top 100 Camp, the 6-11 Ayton told scouts and media that he has received a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
"He was just saying he'd love to have me at the school and he's giving me an official offer to the University of Kentucky," said Ayton, via the LCJ.
