NASHVILLE - Crisis averted.
Kentucky basketball kept its hopes of top-four NCAA Tournament seed alive by rallying from a 14-point deficit to escape Nashville with a 78-64 win over Vanderbilt. The victory will do little to boost Kentucky's resume, but a loss could have been catastrophic considering the Commodores entered the day with just one Southeastern Conference win the last two years and ranked 152nd in the NCAA's NET metric.
In both meetings with Vanderbilt during the regular season, Kentucky trailed at the half.
In the first game on Jan. 29 in Rupp Arena, Vanderbilt led 35-28 at halftime before Kentucky rallied for a 71-62 win.
