LEXINGTON - Kentucky basketball opened Southeastern Conference play with a victory over Missouri Saturday but may have lost sophomore point guard Ashton Hagans in the process.
Late in the 71-59 win, Hagans injured his right ankle while defending. He immediately grabbed the ankle in pain and checked out of the game with 1:30 remaining.
UK coach John Calipari ruled out an Achilles Tendon injury after the game, saying Hagans described it as a "low-ankle sprain." While that injury sounds far from a worst-case scenario, Calipari said he is uncertain if Hagans will be available for Kentucky's Tuesday trip to Georgia.
