The Floor Leader. The Little General. Whatever you want to call University of Kentucky sophomore Tyler Ulis, it’s clear that he’s the straw that stirs the Wildcats’ drink (to paraphrase MLB legend Reggie Jackson). Until backcourt mates Isaiah Briscoe and Jamal Murray get up to speed, the bulk of the point guard duties falls on Ulis. And so far, he’s delivered. Even in the loss to UCLA, Tyler scored 9 points and had 9 assists (despite shooting 2-12 from the floor). After a year of watching former Cat Andrew Harrison lead Kentucky to a 38-1 mark and a trip to the Final Four, this year’s team is all about Ulis.
