LEXINGTON - The collapse came early for Kentucky basketball against Tennessee Saturday.
The Wildcats blew a 10-point lead with 12 minutes remaining, scoring just eight points over the next 8:47, to fall 82-71 to the Volunteers. The loss was Kentucky's third in a row and sixth in the last seven games. The 5-12 Wildcats have now lost at least three games in a row for the third time this season.
The second-half collapse wasted a career-best performance from sophomore forward Keion Brooks (23 points, 11 rebounds).
Tennessee has had as much success against Kentucky in recent years as any program in the SEC, but the Volunteers have generally gotten the best of John Calipari's young teams with veteran-heavy lineups.
