LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky has work to do to reach the NCAA super regionals for only the second time in program history.
UK, playing as the visitor Saturday at Kentucky Proud Park, allowed a two-run lead to slip away in the bottom of the seventh inning and couldn’t muster a rally, losing to Indiana 5-3.
The Wildcats (37-18) potentially have a busy Sunday ahead: They face West Virginia at noon, and the winner of that contest earns a rematch with Indiana at 6 p.m. A win by either the Wildcats or Mountaineers in Sunday’s nightcap will force a winner-take-all game Monday, with the victor advancing to super regionals.
