LEXINGTON, Ky. – Nick Mingione’s Kentucky baseball team managed to get most of the firsts out of the way in the opening game of the new $49 million Kentucky Proud Park.
Eastern Kentucky second baseman Ryland Kerr singled on the first pitch in the ballpark’s history, but the Wildcats accounted for the most important history of the day: the first win with a 7-3 victory over EKU.
UK first baseman Dalton Reed scored the park’s first run in the bottom of the second inning on the first error in stadium history.
