UK baseball coach Nick Mingione previews Louisville game Jon Hale/Courier Journal
LEXINGTON, Ky. - A record-sized crowd turned out to watch the last regular-season game between the Kentucky and Louisville baseball teams in Cliff Hagan Stadium history.
The play on the field struggled to match that hype, but UK was able to send most of the 4,798 fans home happy with an 8-5 victory over its archrival.
No. 10 Kentucky and No. 21 Louisville combined for eight errors, six hit-by-pitches, 14 walks and 22 men left on base. The Wildcats won despite totaling as many hits (eight) as runs thanks in large part to eight walks and five hit-by-pitches.
