LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky marching band turned heads when it formed a dollar sign as part of its halftime show Saturday, but the school's director of bands says the formation was not a shot at the current Louisville basketball scandal.
"The UK halftime show featured the music of Bruno Mars, and the drill and dollar sign (designed by one of our graduate students) was solely related to the theme of the show and related music," UK director of bands Dr. John Cody Birdwell said in an email to Courier Journal. "We performed the same exact show here on November 2 as well.
