LEXINGTON — College football coaches appear cautiously optimistic about Kentucky and Louisville entering the season, but the Wildcats and Cardinals have work to do to earn the full trust of their peers.
Both UK and U of L were included in the "also receiving votes" category of the preseason Amway Coaches Poll released Thursday. Kentucky received the fourth most votes of teams outside the top 25, and Louisville received the eighth most.
With the Governor's Cup rivalry game canceled for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the two rivals will not have a chance to prove which team is better in a head-to-head matchup, but both teams should have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves against impressive competition.
