When Kentucky plays Georgia Tech in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Dec. 31, the Wildcats will be adding a little bit to its bowl history for the first time in years.
The last time Kentucky, 7-5 this season, appeared in a bowl game it was 2010, a 27-10 loss to Pittsburgh in the BBVA Compass Bowl. It was the sixth year in a row that the program had qualified for a postseason appearance, but those honors have since been few and far between.
For a program that has been around since 1881, there have only been 15 bowl appearances for Wildcats football, excluding this season under coach Mark Stoops.
