The University of Kentucky athletic director will make $925,000 annually in base salary — $195,000 more than he made in his previous contract year.

And he could make more than $1.1 million by 2023, with an option for 2024, according to a contract amendment made available by University of Kentucky open records.
Barnhart, the longest-tenured athletic director in the Southeastern Conference and in his 17th year at UK, was selected by unanimous vote of his peers last year as the chair of SEC Athletics Directors.
