Among the coaches whose names have drawn buzz during the brief search are Tulsa assistant Dennis Felton (former WKU head coach), Kentucky associate head coach Kenny Payne, Texas A&M associate head coach Rick Stansbury, Kansas assistant Kurtis Townsend (a former WKU player), former Arkansas head coach John Pelphrey and Xavier associate head coach Travis Steele.
