Kentucky offensive guard Kenneth Horsey is a candidate for one of college football’s most respected awards. Horsey is on the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, given each year to college football’s greatest community servant.
Horsey’s football career almost ended before it started at Kentucky. Just months before graduating from high school, doctors discovered a growth on valve in his heart. The experience was harrowing, yet Horsey only came back stronger. Two years after open-heart surgery, Horsey started eight SEC games on the Big Blue Wall.
Inspired by John Schlarman’s strength, the UK offensive lineman has used his story to educate others.
