This evening, it was announced that Kentucky freshman Keldon Johnson and graduate transfer Reid Travis were each listed as National Player of the Year candidates from two separate sets of voters.
Johnson, who has averaged 15.6 points (50.7 percent from the floor, 39.2 percent from three) and 5.6 rebounds per game through 14 games, has been named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25.
The list is comprised of the 25 student-athletes who are frontrunners for national player of the year, with Johnson being just one of five freshmen included and just one of three players from the SEC.
