Yesterday, Keldon Johnson rolled his ankle during the GEICO High School Nationals quarterfinals, inducing panic across the Big Blue Nation. Johnson wasn’t able to suit up for the semifinals this afternoon, but he did sound hopeful about playing tomorrow should Oak Hill make the championships.
“It’s hurting, but I think with the right treatment, I can get back out there tomorrow,” Johnson told ESPN. “But my coaches are very cautious about putting me out there today with it hurting because I can’t really move like I want to.”
Later in the broadcast, ESPN’s announcers said Johnson tried to give it a go before the game, but was unable to plant or push off that foot.
