The Hendricks Award is given annually to college football’s top defensive end.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky senior Josh Allen has been named one of four finalists for the Ted Hendricks Award, which honors the nation’s top defensive end. The other finalists include Jaylon Ferguson (Louisiana Tech), Clelin Ferrell (Clemson) and Sutton Smith (Northern Illinois), with the winner to be announced on Thursday, Dec. 6.
The 17th annual award is based upon on-field performance, leadership ability, and contributions to school and community, amongst other criteria. The award honors Hendricks, a three-time All-American at Miami and National Football League Hall of Famer.
