Earlier today Kentucky’s prolific pass rusher was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press. On Thursday he is up for another award. Allen is one of four finalists for the Ted Hendricks Award, given to the nation’s top defensive end for the last 17 years. The other finalists are Jaylon Ferguson (Louisiana Tech), Clelin Ferrell (Clemson) and Sutton Smith (Northern Illinois).
Before the Hendricks Award is doled out, his hands could already be filled with trophies.
Tonight he will be in Charlotte for the presentation of the Nagurski Award, given to the nation’s top defensive player.
