Playing time won’t come easy, though. With at least three talented frontcourt players joining them from the current recruiting class, and maybe one more before it’s all said and done, the two second-year big men will have to compete and earn their minutes over the talented newcomers, and hopefully Marcus Lee, next season.
Assistant coach John Robic said they need to use this spring to get ready for the position battles.
“This is a huge spring for those two, body-wise and skill-wise,” Robic told call-in show listeners, last night. “They have to take advantage of now until summer school starts, until the end of the academic term in early May, and once they come back from home and that summer school session starts, it is a huge, huge time for those two.
