LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari wants to help local federal workers not being paid during the government shutdown.
So he's partnering with REACH, Inc. and Kroger to provide financial assistance to the approximately 400 federal workers in Lexington not being paid during the shutdown. The news was revealed during Calipari's weekly radio show Wednesday night when a federal worker identified as "Candice in Lexington" called in to thank Calipari for his assistance.
"We’re going to try to touch all 400 of them," Calipari said.
