KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A two-point deficit with more than a quarter of the game remaining should not be an insurmountable hole to escape.

But for Kentucky, the critical blow it its third consecutive loss at Tennessee came with the Wildcats trailing 49-47 with 12:33 remaining when a cramp ended freshman forward PJ Washington’s night.

“They out-toughed us,” UK coach John Calipari said. “They just threw us around. It was embarrassing. As soon as we had PJ out of the game we had no shot of winning the game because every one of their players at that point was tougher than our guys.
