Kentucky isn’t at the Final Four, but John Calipari is. On Sunday, Calipari will receive the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Metropolitan Award, given annually to those who have made significant contributions to college basketball throughout their life. Previous winners include John Wooden, Dean Smith, Phog Allen, and Adolph Rupp. Calipari was selected as this year’s recipient earlier this month.
The award will be presented at the annual NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Lila Cockrell Theater in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.
