Nothing has changed regarding Shaedon Sharpe’s future at Kentucky and the plan John Calipari has for him in Lexington.
Despite confirmation that Sharpe has met the age and academic requirements to be eligible for the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft, the Kentucky head coach said Friday that the five-star guard is planning to be a Wildcat through the 2022-23 season.
At this point, draft status is irrelevant.
“No, it doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t,” Calipari said. “He plans on being here next year.”
On Thursday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony broke the news that Sharpe had sufficient credits to graduate from high school before the start of the NBA season in October.
